November 28, 2006 The inauguration of the El Cairo Film Festival took place at the Opera Palace, the illuminated building on the lower left. At the end of the ceremony there were beautiful fireworks. While Lucy attended the ceremony, as FIPRESCI jury president (See her note A Swan on the Nile and the complete Cairo 2006 coverage) I spent the night with Valentina at our Hotel. This photo is from our room. The view of the Nile, day or night mesmerized me during our stay.  A slideshow from this trip here
